Community Engagement Manager

I strongly believe we are called to support and serve our most vulnerable populations, and Call to Freedom is doing incredible work by meeting survivors where they are on their journey to wholeness as well as promoting awareness and prevention.

When did you start working at Call to Freedom? And what is your personal and professional journey that led you here?

I started working at Call to Freedom in July of 2023.

I have had experience managing and working alongside volunteers in different capacities, including time with Augustana’s student led service organization and with Feeding South Dakota guiding volunteers in hunger relief efforts. When God opened the door to unite community members as volunteers, advocates, and donors around the issue of human trafficking, I knew my experience and passion for service would make this position a wonderful fit.

What is your position at CTF & why is it important to the mission?

As the Community Engagement Manager, my position plays an important role in engaging community members who are passionate about helping those in our community impacted by sex and labor trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. I get to work with individuals who feel called to support our mission and use their unique talents and abilities to broaden our impact.

Why do you believe in the mission of Call to Freedom?

Before joining the team at Call to Freedom, I didn’t understand the full story of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation in our area. In my first week with the organization, I learned from staff, survivors, and other individuals close to the cause the scope of this crime affecting my home. I strongly believe we are called to support and serve our most vulnerable populations, and Call to Freedom is doing incredible work by meeting survivors where they are on their journey to wholeness as well as promoting awareness and prevention.

What is a moment that sticks out to you from your time working here or why do you feel like it’s meaningful?

The many moments when community members have approached me with stories of personal connection to the issue of trafficking have been deeply moving for me. These moments serve as a reminder of the importance of the work Call to Freedom does.

What is a fun fact about yourself?

I studied abroad in New Zealand for a semester in college.
