What is your personal and professional journey that led you to Call to Freedom?

After taking my first addiction counseling class at USD I knew I wanted to be in the addiction services field. I was fascinated by both the biological & social components of addiction and I am passionate about working with the demographic.

What kinds of projects are you most excited to work on at Call to Freedom?

Addiction treatment is my passion, and I’m excited for any opportunity to use my knowledge and experience in this field to better serve others.

Why do you believe in the mission of Call to Freedom?

I believe everyone deserves safety and the opportunity to heal from past trauma. Call to Freedom’s team is full of compassionate individuals that are committed to helping break the cycles of exploitation and abuse.

How do you think your position at Call to Freedom is important to the mission?

It’s not uncommon for human traffickers to use drugs and substances as a method of control over their victims. For the survivors, treating addiction then becomes a part of their healing process.  It’s my role to provide trauma-informed care to these individuals in order to support long-term recovery and stability.
