About Thrivent Member Network – South Dakota Plains Region’s Fundraiser

JOIN US ON GIVING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2:

IN THE MORNING: Grab your morning coffee anytime from 6:30-9am at Zooks Coffee Bar (815 N Gateway Ln, Tea) and stop by our table to learn more about Call to Freedom and support the mission.

OVER THE NOON HOUR: Join Call to Freedom from 11-1pm at their new location for an open house event featuring free lunch from local food trucks, card making for survivors created by our volunteers, and guided tours of the new facility. This is a great opportunity to learn more about their mission, connect with the community, and show appreciation for those who help make a difference. Bring a friend and stop by for food, fun, and a chance to support a powerful cause in a meaningful way. (4501 S Technology Drive, Sioux Falls)

IN THE EVENING: Join us at Embrace Church – Westside (100 N Ebenezer Avenue, Sioux Falls) from 6:30-8pm for “Keeping Kids Safe Online: A practical training for parents and caregivers.” Call to Freedom, in collaboration with federal and local law enforcement, is hosting a free, hands-on training designed to equip parents and caregivers with the tools and knowledge to protect kids in today’s digital world. The free event will provide real case insights and expert guidance to help you support vulnerable individuals in your community. Light refreshments will be served.

*For every $2 donated through Thrivent’s online giving platform on Giving Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Thrivent will match $1 up to an additional $20,000 per Thrivent Member Network. All donations in support of this fundraiser will be made through Thrivent CharitableTM. Thrivent will pay up to $300,000 in online processing fees per calendar year for personal donations made through Thrivent’s online giving platform.

Call to Freedom is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive, coordinated services to individuals who have been impacted by human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. We serve survivors of all ages and backgrounds, offering them a path toward healing, independence, and long-term safety. Their team walks alongside survivors from the moment they reach out, whether they’re escaping a trafficking situation, exiting the life, or recovering from years of exploitation. We connect them to safe shelter, trauma-informed counseling, medical care, legal advocacy, transportation, spiritual support, and job training tailored to their unique journey.

Every dollar you give directly fuels this work. How Your Donation Helps Survivors in Our Three Pillars: Prevention, Intervention, and Restoration.

Emergency Response: Your support helps fund our response team that provides immediate care, transportation, and safety planning when a survivor is in crisis. • Safe Housing: Donations provide access to short-term emergency housing and long-term residential care, including Marissa’s House, a safe haven and supportive housing site for adult female survivors and their children.

Trauma-Informed Care: Your gift supports ongoing mental health services, addiction recovery resources, and case management so survivors can begin to heal. Empowerment Programs: Funds help survivors develop life skills, gain education, pursue employment, and take steps toward independence and self-sufficiency.

Prevention & Training: Your contribution also helps us raise awareness, educate communities, and train frontline professionals to recognize and respond to trafficking. Every service Call to Freedom offers is provided at no cost to the survivor, and that’s only possible because of generous donors like you. This Giving Tuesday, your support helps us continue to deliver transformative programs that strengthen our community, one individual at a time. Join us in empowering those impacted by human trafficking and commercial exploitation and building a brighter future for each person.
