SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – South Dakota’s U.S. Attorney’s Office shared the results of a week-long sting operation during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
For eight years, Call to Freedom has been helping victims of labor and sex trafficking. As the data shows from this past Sturgis Rally, at any event of that kind of size trafficking will always be an issue. That’s why Call to Freedom says it’s so important to understand the signs when it comes to trafficking.
Whether it’s the Super Bowl, the Olympics and even the Sturgis Rally, which had thousands of attendees, sex trafficking is present.
“Anytime large gatherings of individuals come together, there’s just that higher chance that there’s going to be that trafficking piece,” said Ashton Ekdom, Director of Program Development & Occupational Therapy for Call to Freedom.
