Meet Dawn Stenberg
Dawn had the privilege to volunteer with the Junior League of Sioux Falls where she chaired the Human Trafficking Education as well as the Human Trafficking Task Force projects. From a young age, her grandmother instilled in her the responsibility of giving back and being active in her community. She believes that not only is she helping the organization but she has met some wonderful people and is making an impact in our community. One of the most important things she has learned from being a part of Call to Freedom is the needs of human trafficking survivors are the same but different for each individual person. Call to Freedom is needed now more than ever. She loves the fact that Call to Freedom continues to evolve with the everchanging community needs. As Call to Freedom continues to learn from the survivors they serve, they are finding future work needs to focus on programs and education for our youth.
She is amazed at how our community has come together to support Call to Freedom through the annual CommUnity breakfast and watching the Marissa’s Housing Project become a reality for women and their children. There are many areas to volunteer with Call to Freedom, whatever amount of time you have, they can find a place for you.
Dawn enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren as well as golfing, gardening and traveling. Just remember, “With God, All things are Possible!”
Thank you, Dawn, for your servant heart and all that you do for Call to Freedom!
