Annual Breakfast a Smash Hit
They did it.
On October 18 more than 550 heroes dusted off their capes and turned out for this year’s CommUnity Breakfast.
Their effort raised $60,000 toward our annual operating costs, an incredible boost to Call to Freedom’s support for those who have been victimized by human trafficking.
“Our organization has become a haven to those in need, not just in South Dakota but across state lines. Everyone who benefits from Call to Freedom is a tangible extension of your kindness and generosity,” Executive Director Becky Rasmussen told the crowd that morning.
Those words rang true in the story of Sarah, who bravely shared with the crowd how Call to Freedom has stabilized her life and set her on the path to survivorhood. She is currently pursuing a degree in computer programming, something she never would have thought possible before she found CTF.
“I now have hopes and dreams for my life,” she said.
Call to Freedom is honored to be welcoming the broken and hopeless. Your support has been a crucial part of Sarah and her peers’ transformation. Thank you for partnering with us on this journey!
“Thank you to everyone who attended the third annual CommUnity Breakfast! It was truly humbling to look around the room and see all of you supporting Call to Freedom,” said the event’s chairperson Kristen Thorkelson. “It means a great deal to the clients CTF serves and betters our community.”
There’s still time to join these heroes. Simply visit www.calltofreedom.org and click on the donate tab at the top of the page.
You won’t even have to dust off your cape.
